Requesting a Subaward

Outgoing Subawards & Sponsored Consulting Agreements

A subaward normally involves collaboration with another educational or research institution but may be entered into with any organization outside the University. The research is generally performed by the Subrecipient’s personnel using their resources, usually at their site. The Subrecipient takes full responsibility, including intellectual leadership, for the portion of the work statement that they will undertake.  To request a subaward, a subaward proposal must be done in or very similar to a regular grant proposal.  See “How to submit proposal” link.  The Outgoing Subaward Team at URA is responsible for processing all outgoing subawards and sponsored consulting agreements. The LBC’s Grants Specialists will provide financial and technical post-award support for all grants, manage award modifications, and interface with University Research Administration (URA) on behalf of the PI.

To learn more about submitting a subaward proposal, please contact SSD Local Business Center at SSD-LBC@uchicago.edu and the LBC Grant Specialist assigned to your accounts will get in touch with you within 2 business days.
